Your good work for Dearborne
Made a lot of dreams come true
For students in the chorus, and
For their director, too!
Sure, you played piano,
But I hope you understand,
That, in addition, you became
No less than my right hand.
There was not a small detail
That you’d let go askance -
From cumber buns to black bow ties
To children’s wrinkled pants.
And off to King’s Dominion, and
The Town Center we went,
Because you always gave to us
One hundred ten percent!
You shared with kids your caring
And your love, so dear and kind,
These attributes then formed a seed
In every child’s young mind.
And as these seeds take root and then
Begin to germinate,
A lovely flower blossoms that
Your care has helped create.
And, though I’ll surely miss you,
Consolation will I find
In knowing you are somewhere
Sowing seeds in other minds.
