Debbie wrote this for her mother on Mother's Day.  It was  from both her and her sister - neither of them married.  Her brother and his wife were preparing at the time to travel to Romania to pick up their newly adopted baby - the family's first grandchild.

I can write a Mother's Day card for you that reflects your family's unique situation - WHATEVER it may be!!  And it can be just as funny or as sweet as you want it to be!!flowers

Happy Day to Mother Dear
From her two lovely girls,
The younger one a proud brunette,
The eldest one in curls.

This year, I fear, they’re stymied, though,
And seem to fret and pout,
For they don’t know just what to do
To beat their brother out.

In prior years it was a cinch
To celebrate their mother
In fashion that would quite outdo
The efforts of their brother.

But now he’s pulled out all the stops
And gone the extra mile
In planning for a gift that’s sure
To make his mother smile.

I guess that we could just take pride
That, in his jealous mania
We’ve driven the poor sibling all
The way to far Romania.

But, better yet, I think we will
Both of us take the dare
And find our Mom a present that
With Edward’s will compare.

And so we both will pregnant get,
And how proud Ma will be
That now, instead of one grandkid,
She will be blessed with three!

Ha, ha, just kidding, Mother dear,
You needn’t get so wild,
Your gift again this Mother’s Day
Is we WON’T have a child.
